- How do I become a member?

- How are sites ranked?
The Genealogy Top List is ranked by the number of votes coming to this page and the number of votes going out from this page.
- How often can people vote?
Visitors can vote only once per day. This is to prevent anyone from falsely running up your vote count by repeatedly clicking your link in and out of the Top List. No matter how many times your link is clicked, individual IPs are only counted once in any 24 hour period.
- How can I get votes?
After you sign up, you will be sent a code to add to your site to start getting votes! That's how you move up the ladder, so if you don't place a return link at your site, you can't get any votes.
- When will my site appear on the list?
Only sites receiving at least one vote will appear. So, it's important that you place the LINK BACK TO US as soon as you submit your site, and click it once to ensure that it's working. The list is updated every hour, but generally, your listing is added as soon as you submit your site. If you don't see your listing right away, check back in one hour.
- How can I show my banner?
The top 10 sites will appear with banners. While we'd prefer that banners be the standard 468 X 60 pels, or smaller, we'll accept just about anything as long as it's not obvious that you're trying to take over the page. If you have a banner, you'll link the URL where it's stored at your site. If you don't have a banner, your text link will still show.
- How should I describe my site?
Site descriptions are limited to a maximum of 50 characters. Site names should be no more than 30 characters.
- Can I change my information after I sign up?
Yes - just keep a record of your ID number and password. Then you can edit your URL, your banner, and your description. Again, changes can take up to an hour to show on the list.
- Are there any restrictions I should be aware of?
Just one... We only list FREE sites, although any other ad banners you have are just fine with us. Pay sites, membership sites, and sites which require a sign-up of sorts, with or without a credit card, will be removed.
